Foliage: Green deciduous leaves; the tree produces attractive white to pale pink spring blossoms—often before leaves emerge.

Flowers: Large, white-pink spring flowers; fragrant and showy, appearing before the leaf flush.

Fruit: Broad, oval paper-shelled nuts—sweet-flavored, soft-shelled almonds that split open naturally at harvest. These store well in-shell for several months.

Pollination: Self‑pollinating (self‑fertile); only one tree is required for seed set.

Crop Timing: Nuts are typically ready around early to mid‑season variously described as around March (southern hemisphere) or mid‑season depending on climate.

Growth Habits & Uses: Upright, open‑canopied, low‑maintenance. Ideal for home orchards, smaller gardens, or container growing when grafted on dwarfing rootstock.

Cultivation Notes: Prefers full sun and well‑drained soil. Plant in a warm, sheltered position; water well until established. Plant the bud union above soil level, fertilise when planting and after new growth, and prune to encourage branching and productivity.
