Foliage: Broad, leathery green foliage forming a dense canopy. The foliage provides good screening, habitat value and year-round structure in native and waterwise landscapes.
Flowers: Showy red bottlebrush-like flowers, usually produced through the warmer months depending on conditions. Flowers are nectar-rich and highly attractive to birds, bees and pollinators.
Fruit: Small woody capsules held along the branches; typical of Melaleucas and not generally considered ornamental.

Habitat & Distribution: Native to northern Australia, including parts of Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory. Naturally found in seasonally wet areas, open woodland and tropical to subtropical landscapes.
Growth Habits & Uses: A tough, colourful native tree suitable for screening, habitat planting, streetscapes, parks, revegetation projects and larger residential gardens. Its dense canopy and bird-attracting flowers make it a useful choice for biodiversity-focused planting schemes.
Cultivation Notes: Best grown in full sun to part shade. Tolerates a range of soil types and is adaptable once established. Performs well with regular watering during establishment, followed by deep, less frequent watering. Light pruning can help maintain shape and encourage a denser habit.
